Disconnections

I had heard people complaining last night but, started experiencing it first hand this afternoon. Is this a known issue?

Hello everyone,

If your ISP is routing you through the southern US (namely Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma), chances are you are being affected by Hurricane Harvey. This storm made landfall on Friday evening (which is the same time these issues came to light on our server) as a Category 4 Hurricane and has been pummeling the region since with no hopes of it stopping until tomorrow or Wednesday according to the weather people. It could last even longer if it goes back to the Gulf and gains its strength back.

We cannot do anything, as this is a routing issue with the ISP service and not the game.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Two quick questions...
(1) are the LC US servers in Texas?
(2) could we have an ip address of one of the servers to ping to test the delay from our end and identify whether that is the issue?
Thanks

The only reason I posted was because people have been mentioning getting dc before the storm. Mine could be due to the storm but, I have heard others have been dcing days before the storm was even in existence.

No, but the servers not being in Texas does not mean ISP's do not route through them to get from where YOU are to where the server is. That is not something I can provide you. Sorry.

I was alerted to the issues Friday night, that is why I am assuming it is possibly the weather. From my investigations into it, it seems that players from EU and Asia are affected (I have had no complaints of this particular issue from anyone who is in the US, or at least they are not notifying me) which is why I believe it is the storm (timeframe + continent).

I get disconnected right after login, repeatedly and sometimes i dont even get to Juno screen. Totally unstable, impossible to play. Losing my 50+ days attendance on all characters since they cant at least stay there long enough to get that attendance check, because i disconnect immediately after login in.

Having returned home from work, have tried to login to LC USA but no success - is system down for patching/repair or offline with problems or ...
No info here or on Discord so wondering whether worth staying up or better to cut my losses and go to bed :)

As if by magic, for a few minutes the system was up and running, at least as far as logging in was concerned and I was back to the situation of disconnecting after 30 seconds or so... Now I am back to not being able to login at all..

Accepting that the situation is not of LC's making, could I ask that a message be put up on the forum once the situation is resolved, so that I and others will know when to recommence playing with some confidence of lasting more than a couple of minutes..

It has been passed along. The server itself is not going down, I'm not sure what's going on...but a ticket has been made.

I'm in Australia, Vilya, and I'm also getting disconnections. And I shouldn't be anywhere near the storm you mentioned.

I'm just saying, Vilya. I'm not having a go at you, or anyone else.

It has nothing to do with being near the storm. Every ISP service has a route they use to connect from your house to "B" (B being the location of whatever you are connecting to). Each server/place you connect to has a different route depending on where it is in the world.

The US server is in the US, you are in Australia but your ISP could route through an affected area of the USA that is in the middle of the storm to get you from your house to the server.

Think of it as a road to the store, sometimes you need to make turns or go from one road to another to get from your house to the store.
