I'm going to make this thread as a discussion/question for Master stones.
I'm wondering what the reason was to change the Master Stone chance from 100% to 30% (Other than more profit for the company) as I think this would give a overall image of the company and where it plans to go with certain things.
Sadly I wasn't here when the Master Stones where 100% success rate but I wish I was, the first thing I said when I used a Master Stone was "W** these are not 100%" and after talking to a few people they seem to have a sour taste in their mouths about this change and the fact it also binds the item to your character now, when before it didn't.
So what does everyone think about these changes?
Hopefully Vilya(Or another company representative) will give the company's reasons as to why they think this was a good change for the overall game.

I think we all wanna know why these changes was made
i think 1 problem is that the ppl who came up with this idea isnt a player themselfs, they are just in the company to try make money.
We all know for a fact that ppl are leaving this game and 1 big problem is just this with master stones and gearbound.
I for one are still hoping Vilya and the gms can hear us players and make gamigo change their minds to the better.
I also agree.
I have nothing against gamigo, they're friendly and are always there to help,
but still I miss the style of ariagames..
The fact that masterstones are 30% succesrate and that they're bound to the character.
The 100% casting, the economy, etc...
I've also wachted alot of video's from a while ago and people also comment there that they miss some parts of the old last chaos.
Maybe if you (gamigo) can find a way to balance things the way you want and the way the people wants it
we can find a way to make us both happy.
I'm pretty sure alot of people would come back to the server which also means you guys will have more chance of income.

There is a place for these master stones as is. Especially since there is now equipment that is bound to the character already. Using them on this equipment really does not hurt anything in fact gives you the bonus of not breaking stuff without using those ummm *utters words that can't be said on forums* ROP... There has already been an unbind prize for an event so the possibility exists that if you win one of these events you could get your item unbound if it was an item that was not originally bound.
First...want to say that the +17 master stone is a 100% guaranteed upgrade from +14 to +17....its when you want to go beyond that, that it gets dicey.
As far as the bound thing....I think that at one point the Gamigo company was going to drop or did drop the master stones all together and because of player outcry decided to bring the stones back with some of these modifications. Not sure of the reasons behind that but I know Vilya has discussed this issue before.....I'm sure there are some legitimate reasons why these changes were made...will just have to wait for Vilya to respond.

Okay I am home now and, as promised, will respond.
Master Stones will not be changed as far as unbinding. As for their chances of fail, no change or upgrade I cannot make a guarantee the chances will not ever change (we have seen them changed once thusfar) but can say it will never go back to being 100% guarantee.
They were only ever in US version until they were changed and re-implemented here..and believe me, we fought tooth and nail to get them implemented on the other versions too. But, it was very well known already how much they had unbalanced and messed up Last Chaos US and was not going to make that same mistake on the other versions as well. So compromise was made between publisher and developer and we have what we have now.
Simply put, MMORPG's are based (some more loosely than others) on the old school Dungeons and Dragons games..meaning you had a dungeon master who had his dungeon masters book..and tons of different kinds of dice (my fave was the 20 sided, preferably in the old onyx color...although the opalescent burnt orange was kind of cool too ). You kept your own stat sheets, written by hand...I had even drawn a charcoal drawing of my halfing elf thief....but I digress...
With these games, it is all about chance...which you used to take by a roll of the die (oh no! I got eaten by an ogre again!!!) but is now a computer generated chance. Some publishers prefer to make things far too easy on their players and then all you wind up with is cookie cutters of the same build, with same accessories and same armor with no variation of difference between then. It makes for a very boring game after a while.
Take away chance and there is no challenge left. If it was easy peasy lemon squeezy...everyone would be 185 and 100%...everyone would have OP accessories...everyone would have +30 armor and weapons with Level 15 Chaos Corals and Corals...this isn't Stepford Wives, it's Last Chaos.
Now, before anyone starts up the torch and attempts to flame..I am well aware all the builds are basically the same to a point...I am aware the armor is the same to a point...I am aware you cannot customize how your character looks to a point. But past those points you can...I encourage creativity in armor sets..mix and match..decide for yourself.
That being said, this is still a company..and the game is free to play (meaning you can accomplish all you'd like without needing to pay, it just will be slower and more of a grind) model with an item mall. Keep in mind there is staff to pay, lights to keep on, servers to maintain, and various other company type costs...without those being paid, we'd have no game to play.
I know when a battle is lost and I will admit defeat, at least we have the information we need.
The all information you needed - master stones r made to pay Gamigo's bills. If u want +30 wep and unbound gears - wait for their "special" offers and spend some $$ to get them.
Oh btw old lc was so unbalanced,so the new publisher had to bring +30 cap and ele's buff with x3 ur attack and pool of over 100k hp...

Elephants were introduced before the move to gamigo.
And +30 were added AFTER the change to master stones. And you best read the Terms closely as you are toeing a line you do not want to cross.

You are allowed criticism, you are not allowed to post things that are damaging to the reputation of gamigo or the developers.

Not all criticism is bad. "That dress is horrible!" vs "That dress might look better in a different color, but I do not like it in that one"

I know many people who left the game because of this.
In all actuality, none of what they said was true. Everyone who has played since before Master Stones were put into the game knows they grossly unbalanced it. Esp. since Aeria was practically giving Master Stones away there. People complained about it with each new master stone increase put in.
Then they added in elephants. And PGB and AFS. gamigo was doing much better before the Master Stones were put back in. We had far more players, before they pitched hissy fits over the changes and left. So the assumption it's a money pit is asinine at best.
There are so few +30's in any version that assuming it unbalances anything is moot as well.
This was the only true part of their entire diatribe.

Well now I understand a lot more about why the decision was made to make these limitations on the Master Stones...and it makes sense.
Look folks, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to put time and money into a piece of gear only to have it fail or the Master stone...to loose a high lvl weapon you've spent a long time working with and fighting with. I am not a gambler and after +17 I do not find the purchase of a master stone the kind of challenge and chance I am willing to take.
All that aside....there is still the PRS that is made available and as far as I can see can be used when you need it to give your weapon the boost you want...when you want it. And given the cost to upgrade a weapon to +28 I find the +28 PRS a real bargain!
The Elephants are great and I think the Silver Totems really are a welcome addition to the game...I dont want to lose any of those ( I noticed they were mentioned).

Since ms are just bad on success tbh ,how about an event to increase the odds ? Seems fair enough to do so . Master stones are not cheap to buy neither gold or ic .We do not want and easy game to play but sure want a fair way to do things and keep the few players left in the game happy 20master stones fail vs 1 success is a bit over the limit.
