Brainstorming: What's Beneath the Waters of the Irisian Continent?

The Land of Iris is surrounded by water and inundated with Lakes, Ponds, and Rivers. Have you noticed that it is virtually impossible to explore these bodies of water? If we had the power to expand this game...or create a new version using these bodies of water as an added environment to the game...what new life forms, classes, weapons, armor, mobility...etc....would you create?

I'll start with the following examples:

I believe that there are lost cities or ruins below the oceans of Iris that were destroyed during the ancient fight between Eres and Appolon (see Back Story at lastchaosinfo.com) What if we could buy gear that would help us breath under water to explore the seas of iris and other land locked bodies of water. What kind of monsters could we fight, and what about fishing for rewards. Killing sea monsters for sp or exp. And maybe quests that involve underwater exploration. And what about a new amphibious type of class/character we could create specifically for moving about or living under the ocean etc.....Weapons...like harpoons and dart guns etc.... What kind of quests could be created....and what about some hidden object type puzzles being used to help complete a quest or two?

This is a "what if" Brainstorming Thread....all ideas are welcome in designing this new addition to Last Chaos land of Iris. This is all Hypothetical...there are no plans that I am aware of to expand Last Chaos. But your ideas are viewed by staff members and could be used in future game changes....you just never know ;)

Jonin since this is a "what if brainstorming session" anything is possible. Actually your suggestion can be most important to the advance of the game. I think with activating the water and putting in sunken cities etc...it might be a good idea to raise the cap to over 200....at lower lvls players could only go so deep below the surface. Maybe only fish until they reach a certain lvl.

Items to allow you to breath under water could be drops to players over 185. The higher the lvl and with some special jewels in socketed equipment you might be able to stay under the water at great depths for longer periods of time.....I like your suggestion. Being allowed to take advantage of water exploration and questing should be based to a great extent on high level achievement! Raising the cap would open up the game to these new challenges!!!!

How many times have they changed the forums? And why; they still look horrible. Since Aeria belongs to Gamigo now, maybe they could make them give back our old forums? Some of info there might be outdated, but a lot of it can still be useful because there werent many updates since gamigo bought LC. Those forums exist somewhere, I can still see my post count and even my posts, but if I try to click to open threads it wont let me.
Sorry for offtopic, its been a while and I dont remember the rules here.
Also, they havent raised the lvl cap for years so I dont think they will.

First of all: +1 to carackas for this post.

Many players long for some new content, to make the game more interesting. Especially endgame content. Or maybe if we get a new cap some new features with a new map or dungeon to grind in.
My suggestion is a new dungeon. Since Carackas wants a water theme- maybe a deep sea cave, after you swam to an island in the sea, or with a teleporter. The dungeon can be entered on all channels. I don't want it to be personal. If you like pvp you can go hunt on pvp channels.
The cave has different rooms and some grind mobs and some more challenging mobs. It would be supercool if you could drop some interesting stuff. Like armor and better rate of gold.
The dungeon could be entered from level 185.

All this can be easily fixed by developers because its basic dungeonology.

A perfect spot to get to this dungeon could be by the lake in juno ( where you farm energy ).

Good suggestion Pruss. You know in addition to possible underwater quests it could also open the game to above water mobility in the form of sea vessels, pvp sea battles etc . To keep within the same time frame or the game the ships could be Viking like...

I suggested a water theme simply because there is a lot of water in and around the Iris continent not being utilized for nothing but scenery.

Im not sure what Luda is suggesting however with the right effects going below the Irisian sea or some of the lakes would certainly add intrigue and the right mood, maybe even some new underwater kinds of music as well....! A sea cave near a beach could be a way into this new "dungeon".....

I agree completely with the idea!!! Also i think we have a lot of possible dungeons that could be made by simply using some "abandoned" warp gates and buildings, an exemple of those is the gate is in left north of juno and left north of dratan we have a castle/structure wich could lead us to new dungeons, i bet with some imagination and hard work we could all expand our experiences in LC... And following Carackas idea, we need new places with new mobs and diferent views to explore, new colors too other than the palid yellow/green/white base of most of maps... Let the imagination flow ppl ;)

I feel as though we have had this conversation before on a more personal level like 6+ months ago. This is a very good idea Mr. C and I do recall talking with you about "water type" pets , as well as a water class type of toon, With special skills that can be done in the depths of the ocean, lake, etc. All the water is kind of just scenery at this point and should be more involved with leveling, which includes certain mobs to kill and skills to use. Props to Mr. C for the idea.. I think it's wonderful!

Your right Cakey, we did talk about this a while back but we have a lot of new players and I thought this might add some interesting ideas to what we discussed about 8 months ago. And as I hoped these ideas are very good....I hope we can build on this. Maybe come up with some entire quest ideas. No ideas are bad....give as much detail as you want.

Lud spoke with pictures and the mermaid idea is really a good one. This game is filled with mythical creatures so mermaids in a water scenario makes good sense.

I like the idea of Sunken lost cities. It opens up the idea of a town or towns under water, old ruins and maybe another intelligent specie living down there that players will encounter from time to time in these new quests!! Like I said earlier it fits in with the history of Iris. And I think an additional new character like an Aquarian Being would be an interesting toon...lol

Someone mentioned some areas that look like they could be gateways to new dungeons and areas....That's a good way to go also. I hope we can expand some thought in that direction. Putting some color and more imagery in the maps is also an excellent idea.

Keep the ideas coming....build on what we have or bring in some new direction.....lets take a close look at this game we love and talk about what we would like to see in the future. Give it pie in the sky....we can make adjustments later...:)

Yes all these idea are great. Maybe could even be used for faction to give higher lvl players a chance to explore something new. The idea is great and there are sooo many options the developers an do with this suggestion and I hope they use it

Adding an extension to the Faction Wars is a good idea Cakey. A hidden oasis near Alba could open the game up into a new water oriented realm that would be unexpected and exciting! Or like someone mentioned earlier ..an under ground maze of caves that lead to a grotto that leads to the sea!!

I fully support the idea for the new Maps, as well as including the watery areas of the game in actual Game play. But just expanding on your idea a little, if a new map was to come out containing Ancient Ruins, i honestly believe the way to go would be something more character based. For example knight are were brought into the World of Iris by the God of Light Apollon, where as Titan were brought into Iris by the God of Darkness Eres. So I honestly feel if the game took this information from the backstory and incorporated it into a map on the game. it would add a whole new depth to the game.

If one is going to explore an undersea world they need a good undersea pet -

The Seahorse would be awesome if designed both to carry the player and also have attack/defense allowances.

Again...great ideas...Djinnmahl> using the Backstory to give greater depth and meaning to the game would most certainly make this game even more interesting. It would also make players pay more attention to what the NPCs are saying....people would have to read what is being said so they wouldn't miss something that might help them with a quest in the future.

And the idea of sea worthy pets like a (mountable seahorse; sea serpent, etc ....)Opens up the game to new types of adventures with new kinds of animals, monsters, and characters!! Good area of discussion Healerinred!

Both of these suggestions alone could be expanded upon!!

Brainstorming?????

Ii think a key factor in the game (for that matter) is consistency and real life action/interaction. By this I mean that monsters can shoot/walk through walls yet our shots and progress are restricted. We should be able to shoot OVER obstructions (rocks/boulders/walls/railings). I why can we not shoot through large gaps in walls and railings. Movement is also lacking in that items seem to have and infinite height and indeterminate width that one cannot click over/around even though line of sight says you can. Also, running into rocks and some debris while traversing to destination of a single click results in (most of the time) no advancement and running in place. I think the character should take a course around the object based on real world environment. Oh, and do not forget about the "black holes" one can fall into and never get out with logging or as in most cases teleporting (what a waste of goods).



Side note as means of explanation: I left the game for many years due to the above and the handling of issues by Aeria. Only came back when friends indicated Gamigo took over and "things had changed". Personally, I don't see that many games changes; lots of new items available and customer support appears to be much better (kudos on that, BTW). I see attempts to explain things (in game help) but no apparent progress.

I do enjoy playing the game though.

Thank you for lending me your ear and DO PLEASE keep improving the game. Just don't for get about the little guys too.

Can we just have a new cap please please please??? with some new dungeon (or old with new quests and dailys), or expand alber quests/dailys? like lvl 190, just for the new and old players have a new goal, refresh the old ranking ppl (tht been "frozen" since 2013 and some dont even play anymore), that would surely be a start to bring back ppl that are just waiting something new to come back too, and ofc talking about what is $$$important$$$, ppl using all kinds of pots and boosters to be the newests #1 :thumbsup: ...
I dont want to be too away from the reason of this post, but i think that can be a great step in a good way....

okay...first> This post is just a brainstorming session of a what if game expansion, namely (Using the WATER areas of the game) to add interest and new depth. Ideas in that direction are welcome and appreciated.

Other subject matter (whether a complaint, suggestion, or compliment) (as valid as they may be) should be entered into the forum as a new thread. This will give it the attention it deserves rather than being buried amongst a plethora of posts dealing with another subject.

On Healerinred's suggestion about undersea pets, I think they would also be able to give special buffs for allowing its owner to stay in deeper water without oxygen for longer periods of time. And maybe some special attack buffs for underwater and above water monsters. How about some ideas on the kinds of pets, monsters and weapons that could be developed for under and above water sea battles!

Something as simple as adding jumping to the game could cause endless hours of entertainment especially if we can jump over rocks and stuff...
to the topic at hand the seahorse could be a special sea horse that creates a magical bubble that takes you to underwater caverns (holding air of course in some mysterious way, with new monsters like frogs with lashing tongues. Giant crabs) Maybe some mythical sea person (boss mob) that was banished to the sea by the gods iris that could shape shift into different sea creatures as a battle wears on each stage carrying a different elemental tendency. I wanted to suggest p2 combat type capabilities for the sea horse as a mount similar to the dragon and as long as the person was in water they are bound to the seahorse but, the chances of exploit on that would be too great considering the current rules of the game.
