Something as simple as adding jumping to the game could cause endless hours of entertainment especially if we can jump over rocks and stuff...
YES! (I agree...this would make a big difference regardless of whether the waters had anything to do with that action or not.) Maybe that ability could be given those that complete a certain very difficult, underwater quest?!...lol (had to tie it in...couldn't help myself)
special sea horse that creates a magical bubble that takes you to underwater caverns
YES!
mythical sea person (boss mob) that was banished to the sea by the gods iris that could shape shift into different sea creatures as a battle wears on each stage carrying a different elemental tendency
and YES!...great ideas!!

The reason I mention the underwater caverns is that you would not actually have to design a whole new underwater movement and combat system. It would strictly be a transport mechanism to a cavern (with air and no water) well maybe water like in Dratan that you could wade through which might contain water based mobs which would not require a change in combat methods.

Yes...good idea Surestrike. In fact it could serve that purpose and also be used as a transitional place or places.....one of these caverns might lead to a grotto with luminescent water (saw something like that on the weather channel). A monster (boss) comes out and you must defeat it. Once that has been accomplished a pile of debri washes ashore and you have a hidden object puzzle....once solved you get a small water craft that you can use to submerge and come out in a large lake in Merac....or find yourself in "Arzall"...an ancient lost city (under fathoms of water perhaps) that was cast into the deep irisian sea eons ago when the dark and light forces had clashed....(part of Irisian history).
