This is a good info, but also sad for me. To get my bow from +17 to +18 I need about 6,561 grade I HSs :(

AP or not AP? (Now IC or not IC?) That is the question...
It is hard to fight armed with that when your opponent is armed like this:

but at least another 6561 would upgrade you to +19... :)
wouldn't want to devalue the safe upgrade stone now, would we...
on a more positive note, will the percentages be affected by a 200% or 250% upgrade event and, if so, by how much?

You all forget that with an upgrade events the HS have their success rates increased....this means that the most efficient way to upgrade is during those events since the HS upgrade values go up by 50-100%

it seems you forget how many hs grade 5 are around or you can drop them yourself in mondshine/tarian/alber, which you can use to make your gear from +17 to +18 or fuse them for higher grade. Why calculating in hs1?

You would still need 81 grade 5 HS and they currently sell at around 200 to 250 mill each... so still cheaper to buy a safe upgrade stone?

Because the math is easier :)

Initial post on forum stated to use the Transmuter. This is mistake, you need to go to the Socket Manager near Bianca. Last menu option "Fuse Upgrade Items".

Note: Bring a LOT of HS. Starting from grade 1 to grade 12, well good luck. Even starting from grade 5 drops, getting to grade 12 is, well, @#$$@#$^#$

Like jewels, it takes 3 HS to make one of the next grade up so...

81 grade 1 make 27 grade 2 make 9 grade 3 make 3 grade 4 make 1 grade 5

if grade 1 are worth 3 mill, that means grade 2 = 9 mill, grade 3 = 27 mill, grade 4 = 81 mill, grade 5 = 243 mill

so grade 2 and 3 are cheaper than lucky smelting stones, grade 4 is cheaper than a chaos smelting stone, but only 100% up to lvl 9 unless its an upgrade event, grade 5 is twice the cost of a chaos smelting stone and only 100% to lvl 11...
