More X-Trap issues.

I have been trying to restart playing after a decent vacation from the game, but I cannot.

After logging in and running around for a minute or two, X_Trap closes the game and informs me that I have an 'abnormal game client' and closes it down.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, added exceptions to firewall and to AV program. I have also deleted the X-Trap folder to allow it to re-download. I am getting frustrated.

This is the only game I have ever seen that requires such crazy steps on the user's end as adding the .exe files, etc, as exceptions to the firewall and the antivirus. Most every other game in the world you just install and go play. Bad business.

Anyway, I will try and attach a screengrab of the x-trap error.

Oh yea, I have to load it to a url first...
Working on it.

Aba

Sorry that you're having this issue. Have you added both the game and X-trap to your firewall exceptions?

Are you using Wi-Fi? Try plugging in your laptop into a modem to stabilize your connection, it may assist in reinstalling your game.
Have you tried running your program as administrator?
Are you running a program such as Sandboxie or a virtual machine? X-trap won't allow you to be in our game with those open in your system!

If all else fails, please contact our support team. There's a link in my signature.

Thank you for your patience!

Thank you for the quick response!

For the past hour or 2, I have been narrowing down the cause. It seems to be caused by one of the settings on my AntiVirus. The odd thing is that, on my other machine (running Vista) this problem does not occur. This machine has windows 10, btw.

I am using WebRoot AV. Once I sort out the cause of my issue, I will post the solution here.

Thanks again!

Hi Aba,
I had to disable my webroot to be able to play here again and I am thinking that is your issue also. Try that and see if you can stay in game.

Hi! It is good to see you are still playing xD

It was indeed Webroot, but only one part of it (Realtime Shield). The game will run with all other settings active.

I intend to contact them about this issue, perhaps they will fix it...

Thanks again,
Aba

I would use that email button to x-trap last time I did that a fix came out within a couple of weeks. They seem to respond well to errors like that.

Thank you, SureStike, for your suggestion!

I received a response from WebRoot

Quoted from "WebRoot"

We were able to locate files related to X-Trap that were being
monitored. We have white-listed these files if you could please run a
Webroot scan and try to reproduce the issue following the scan.

Unfortunately, the solution did not work, but I am glad to say they are working on it.

This time, when XTrap closed the game, I sent the email, as per SureStrike's suggestion. Thanks again for that!

I will try to keep this post updated.

Resolved

I have fixed this problem.

Webroot does not allow you to whitelist entire folders. I only had nksp.exe and lc.exe as exceptions. After adding every single .dll file from the Bin folder, I have not had any problems.

Hope this helps any other WebRoot users out there.

Thanks,
Aba

Delete your xtrap folder inside your gamigo last chaos usa folder. Then relaunch the game.

The issue is back : (

I suppose the recent update has changed something and now I am back to the same problem.

This time, allowing all the exe's in the bin folder as exceptions does not work as a solution. XTrap will only allow the game to be played with the Webroot feature 'Realtime Shield' disabled. Otherwise, XTrap closes the game with the warning 'abnormal game client'

I have re-opened my support ticket with Webroot about this issue.

Thanks for your time,
Aba

Resolved

I contacted Webroot and they have resolved the issue.

Thanks,
Aba

*more info
I would like to add that I no longer have any LC files set as exemptions. The problem seems to be solely between XTrap and Webroot. I bet they will get tired of hearing from me after every patch! Anyway, happy gaming!
