White Day

Dear Community!

ome of you may have asked themselves, why we switched on the Valentine’s Day event again today in Last Chaos, where you can collect lots of chocolates which you can eat yourself, gift to your loved ones or exchange at Landy for cool prizes.

Today is the “White Day”, which is mostly celebrated in Japan and South Korea as an addition for Valentine’s Day. It’s custom in some Asian countries that the girls are giving presents to the boys on Valentine’s Day. On White Day, which is held on 14th of March, the boys are returning the favor to the girls. The name “White Day” comes from the white chocolates, which are mostly given on that day. In Asia white is the colour of fortune and luck.

The day was originally founded by a confectionist in 1977. Shortly after that, a lot of other confectionery manufacturer followed his example and the day became more and more popular.

Therefore: If you got some chocolates or other gifts on Valentine’s Day, then today will be a perfect chance to return the favor. You can decide between “hommei” chocolates, which are given to your loved ones and “giri” chocolates which are given out of duty to colleagues, classmates etc.

If you didn’t get anything on Valentine’s Day or White Day, then don’t worry – the south Koreans even have a day for that – the “Black Day” – which is held on the 14th of April. It’s custom on that day to eat a traditional Korean dish which is called „Jajangmyeon“.

Have fun with eating lots of chocolates!
