Mardi Gras is upon us!

Hello guys and dolls and players of all levels!

Mardi Gras is a yearly celebration to get all your bad habits and sins out of the way before Lent begins and penance and forgiveness take hold of your soul! Celebrations of Mardi Gras have been going in America since 1703, just a few short years after the area was claimed by a French-Canadian Explorer by the name of Jean Baptiste Le Moyne Sieur de Bienville in 1699. It is steeped in rich traditions which came over from Europe and dotted with newer traditions which have been formed over the many years it has been celebrated.

New Orleans, Lousiana was established in 1718 by Bienville, and the yearly celebrations took hold there. Since the 1730's and 40's it has grown into what we have today. The magnificent floats and masked balls draw revelers from all over the world who come to participate.

Beginning in the early days of February and lasting all month, there are parades and music festivals held all over the city by various Krewes. Masked balls and costumes mark the end of the festivities on Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras quite literally translates to this). We would like to celebrate the final week with you all.

"Laissez les bons temps rouler!" (which means Let the good times roll!) Aww yeah! It's time to get all that sinnin' out your system, so we are helping with some fun events! Check back daily for events and fun facts!

Happy gaming y'all!
