At level 100 you get to choose between

Vampire/Blood Lord - life draining skills / uses own health to cast powerful skills



and Shadow/Nihilist Lord - Gets the soul system upgraded(can carry more souls and for each soul carried gives extra protections) / casts upgraded versions of the already existing spells that require souls

Just an idea since the night shadow doesn't have a sub class :thumbsup:

Sprucing up the Nightshadow class

I'm quite a big fan of the Nightshadow class (if you know me, you know this is true), but I've noticed a lot of things lacking with the NS. It would be very nice to have:

-A dual class such as Shadow Lord, or Necromancer. Necromancer would be able to carry more souls, and soul skills would do more damage, as well as possibly being able to raise "silhouettes" of the dead enemies slain to fight by your side for a certain amount of time. Shadow Lord might be more powerful with the darkness elemental, the darkness skill giving a slightly higher attack speed, or a shadow skill that allows NS to be blanketed by darkness, allowing invincibility and reflect of damage for 3 seconds (a higher cooldown would be needed)

-2 sets of weapons would be nice too, like souls as we already have, or something like the mace the Witch king uses in LOtR.
Necromancer would use souls, and the Shadow Lord would use a mace.

-The ability to use harvesting tools.

-New weapon models for Alber and raid, instead of just recolored textures of the 173 weps.

Perhaps this is asking too much, but it would really be a breath of fresh air to see Nightshadows with a little more pizzazz in the game :)

Nights Shadows being the only class without a subclass id have to agree with you on this one. If we can get some content changes this game could go for the better!

I agree but you also would have to think of the extra difficulty in it not only for the programmers but for the players, the ns need already nearly 250k sp adding dual classes to it would make you need to farm more and more

There will always be a lot of work involved to improve something. NS maybe could even start of with more sp than it already does, to compensate for not being able to farm at early levels. It could bring some balance to pvp perhaps, giving NS a little more variety.

Adding or changing some elements on skills

everyone who played ns before the elemental system was in place that the night shadows were a very strong class and after the elementals system they pulled the shorter of the sticks and was crippled by receiving the dark element which is ok against monsters but not against players. Maybe there is a way that the higher ups could restore the NightShadow to his former glory, or at least a shining piece of it

yeah so im just going to move right into this thread and set up shop. this is my new home :thumbsup:

while i like the idea behind it i would go a different way with the sub classes of NS.
let me start off by saying that i feel NS had been neglected over the years as a class that is only unlocked by reaching a predetermined level
by a vanilla player class. i feel like it should add a new element to game play (as it already does) keeping every facet that every other player class has. for example: Soul of night shadow every other class has one but the NS and i think that is not fair in any way, i can take that one further and touch on the quote above. it all comes together here.
all other vanilla toons have a dual class for example Mage has Witch and Wizard and at face value (to some) can appear to mean the same thing until you look at the skills of each class and as we all know each class has its own soul.
still with me?
okay try this on for size.
at lvl 100 the NS can go and choose a dual class

the NS will have the ability to choose between Harbinger and Reaper class
like the Witch and Wizard they appear to be the same thing but the skills will be extremely different.

this is where things get interesting.
Harbinger will pretty much follow the same skill set as the existing NS skill tree we have now but adding a few more beefed up skills like Darkness Lv 2 (at darkness lv 2 the NS will turn black as before only Lv 2 will add the dark cloud from windy step around the NS that works as an AOE to either increase NS evasion or decrease attacker Hit rate) its open to suggestion
now Reaper would be a very interesting spin on the NS as we know it
think of the rogue for a minute there is the ability to do Melee damage (sin) or ranged Phys damage (ranger)
it would not be impossible to make the ns where they can do melee damage with a Scythe and the reaper class is born.
the Reaper would have a new skill tree with some of the existing base NS skills but like darkness for NS -> Harbinger
the Reaper would have the ability to turn Ethereal to absorb damage but reduce crit and deadly chance.

(think of the floating souls in Mondshine)
i know one of the biggest arguments with this will be that the Sorcerer already uses a Scythe but if you think about it the Fallarm is not even a real weapon it only exists in LC so it would not be out of the ordinary of to make a new name for the NS Scythe. like short scythe or cursed scythe.
and OFC there will/ should be a soul for both classes for harbinger it should be easy to take the skull for the Judgment skill and make that into the Soul. that would work. the reaper could be a bit more tricky as not to take away from the Sorcerers Soul.
anyways this is my take on how to bring the NS up to date. im sure some of you will find a lot of faults with it but considering this is the first time im ever putting it on paper so to speak, there are bound to be flaws.
i think it would be a great addition to the Character classes, having said that im interested in the OPs idea on the direction he thinks the NS should go. i would like to hear a little more about the skills each class would have and so on.
i can talk about this for days on end :love:
