I like the suggestion, this makes the PvP system scale friendly. But I feel like it still doesn't help fix the underlying issue. The major issue is based around characters and their skill line, along with skill traits. Some characters are too powerful because of the skills they have. When PK mode is not activated:
all items that are up to maximum,
and or use whatever potion game provides,
and or use whatever animal bonuses game provides,
and or use whatever jewels up to maximum,
and or use whatever accessories game provides
- are useful only while fighting monsters!
When PK mode is activated:
all items that are above +15 are decreased up to +15,
only droppable potions are usable (exception - repeatable event items are also usable),
animal bonuses are not effective (except some special skills - like stun and or similiar),
all jewels that are above level 7 are decreased up to level 7,
only droppable accessories and or basic value accessories
- are taken into account while fighting with other players!
*completely forgot about accessories (change your opinion if you like)
** typos and changeing poll straightforward
Theoretically i like the idea, but as currykaran2 pointed out that the skill line of the characters are still a major point to be targetted so even when they "fixed" the items, it would still be unbalanced due to the pvp skills some characters have.
I don't think this is the proper way to bring balance. Everyone is able to get their gear over +15 and can get jewels higher than level 7 just like the rest of us.. BUT removing the accessories that were made with accessory forge stones would do a lot of good. No player should be able to have something that other players can't get.. Some have 3 224x5s, 112x5s,150x5s.. fighting people that can get 93x3s at best unless they are lucky enough to find an older player that is willing to sell one...

Then no matter how they try "bringing balance" it will never work... Lets say they went with this idea where they lower everything to +15 and only have level 7 jewels ( please don't btw). The players will still have accessories that are giving them an unfair advantage... They could maybe make a hit rate / evasion cap for pvp so it isn't unfair to 90% of the players here...

If you look you will see many things I have been in favor of. This is just not one of them. FYI this is my first post on this one. I haven't even said whether I agree with it or not but since you will probably ask... No I don't like this idea. It's not big picture enough for me. In another game I use to play they had a concept called the PK triangle. (range>magic>physical>range) Every toon has its weakness and with the right toon equipped with the proper gear you could take out said toon. I would like a system with this sort of concept. It would have to be modified because of the variety of classes we have in LC. The implementation of a system like this would take tons of thought and planning and testing because of the complexity. Not something I believe the users of LC have enough independence and knowledge of the insides of the code to bring about. It may even be more trouble than it is worth...

*Coughs loudly* Bringing the thread back to its' topic, I voted "No" on this suggestion. Out of the suggested "fixes" listed, the only ones that I could potentially get behind are the restriction of Pet Buffs and Healing items while PK Mode is turned on, but those changes on their own wouldn't do much to fix the currently unbalanced pvp in this game.
Removing the benefit of having higher than +15 gear wouldn't solve anything in the long run. It would just serve to discourage people from getting higher grade gear, because pvp is really the only reason you want +25 to +30 gear anyway. Sure, most classes are a bit squishy if you only have +15 gear while doing high lvl pve, but as long as you have some HP Absorb (either on Accesories or through HP Steal Potion) and decent HP jewels you can get by and grind to your hearts content.
My Night Shadow was fine in +14 to +15 lvl 120-130 gear up until lvl 176 and my Ex-Ranger/Assasin ran +13 Erebus gear up until lvl 165 with little to no problems. The only thing I kept changing were their weapons. Not to mention the fact that at around lvl 180 to 185, which is really the only time where people are picky about their gear these days, you aren't going to be grinding much anyway so the only reason you would be picking up high grade gear would be to increase your survivability during siege (since arena is defense capped anyway). Taking away that benefit would simultaneously piss off one portion of the playerbase, de-motivate one portion of the playerbase from investing in their gear on that particular front, and no doubt it would cut pretty deeply into whatever profit Gamigo makes from Master Stone Sales and Safe-Upgrade Stones and all that stuff. From my point of view, this wouldn't be beneficial to neither the players, nor Gamigo, so this is a no-go for me.
The same goes for removing the benefit of having jewels above lvl 7. With the game in its' current state, it would do more harm than good. Let's take a look at the stats here. My Witch has lvl 11 Chaos Corals and lvl 6-8 Corals in ALL PIECE of her gear, except for her Shirt and Wand (for Elemental gems) and she has 80k HP, accesories included. An Ex-Ranger who is suited up with a +31 Dura Xbow can hit for between 30-50k per hit, depending on the quality of their gear, but even with just that +31 and a Chaos Aquamarine lvl 2 in their wep, they can at the very least 3 hit an 80K HP player, and Ex-Ranger doesn't even have the highest Dmg Per Hit in the game.
If we are looking at dps outside of arena, their damage obviously goes down a little bit, but we still have stuff like Dmg Boosters, Despaired Charms and Ignition that would allow the dps to skyrocket, especially if we assume that the target's gear has been capped at +15. Overall, I feel like these changes would do more harm than good.
I believe that the topic of Forged Accesories have already been discussed quite thouroughly in this thread already, and I'm in the camp that says that they should stay. Regardless of the newer players' feelings towards them, people paid real money for these items. And a lot of the players who use them today aren't even the ones who paid money for them, but people who worked their rear-ends off to get the gold to buy one off of those people. They were at the same square one as the people who complain about these accesories. Now, I would be all for evening the playing field somewhat by introducing a new way to acquire accesories with somewhat similar stats, but taking away the ones that are already here is not a good idea.
