Just some ideas

Suggestions to improve population:

1: get rid of the red name penalty. What's the point in striving for the highest lvl and the best gear? Sure, arena can be fun but people feel more alive when there's something to lose. People should have to fight for resources and that's part of what made LC so fun in its early years. Remember fighting over GRD, GGD? Fighting over the best grind spots?

2: New zone/cap. We haven't had a cap update since 2012 when 185 came. We're long over due. New gear and new mobs would drive people to start grinding again and older players would most definitely come back. I've been sitting at 185 and 100% for far too long on multiple toons. Sitting at arena, grinding affinity and opening monster combo accessories can only take a person so far before they get bored.

3: Introduce a new class or change up the meta. We all know that ex rangers have been the kings of the hill since they came. Back in the day, the "best" class changed a bit from time to time with slight changes. Mages used to be able to sit in arena all day without being hit with b5e set and 3 SOS. Then, RKs became kings with dash etc... .. we're all bored to death of ex rangers.

4: new skills that benefit the known lesser classes. Elms, both titan classes, etc.. They need a skill revamp to make them attractive to play. Why would anyone want to make an elemntalist aside for the windy hands buff? there's literally ZERO reason to play one aside from that as it stands. Why would anyone want to make a highlander when they are so poorly designed? lets be frank, PVP is what people strive to do in this game. Some classes have no chance in that aspect. Fix it and make them competitive.

5: Make mobs harder! Everyone soloing everything was probably pretty profitable, but it didn't do much for player count. I think everyone would agree that LC's golden years was when we had to party to kill stuff. Stun orders, good chats, good rewards. I remember having to be in a 3-4 member party just to take down a bogle. now days, everyone can solo everything... can you say.. BOOORING? Zone bosses should take multiple people with a plan to take down. And the rewards from such a boss should compensate the effort. Which goes back to being in a good guild where people help each other and share such items in order to benefit the guild as a whole.

Just a few ideas. I've been here for longer than i care to speak of, and I know my opinion counts for squat, but it's the suggestion board, and these are mine.

just a "note" to make your post more accurate exranger is a trash class actually, far from meta.

ofc with ignition, being invisible is a serious advantage, but ignition shouldn't be allowed in this game anyway.

Being able to hit approximately 45k per tick while exiting invisibility... There is no other class that matches up to it. Full eva set + a HR accessory is all you need to avoid hits, and be able to dish out just as much dps. You have to sit and watch your debuff bar to remotely react fast enough, kinda limits you to a single duel pvp.

and even in arena, if you aren't playing alone, with a cleric and a good characters, there is no way to get killed by an ex ranger.

to add, in arena i saw most of ns soloing ex rangers.

With the 50% attack reduction in sieges, and then the reduction with the incredible amount of armor with +30 gears, only magical dmg charaters are doing something.

You're talking about constant healing. I can stand in middle of arena on my rogue and have 2 NS fully built attack me, and I'd outheal them.
I'm talking about burst. If it's a 1v1, an ex-ranger should not lose following the same rules.

NS hit ~17k deadlies, while an ex-ranger can hit ~45k deadlies. There's nothing else to it, no mechanics, no strategy.

A single cleric will not die to any character, regardless of class.

However, ex-ranger is the only class in the game that can go invisible and come out of invisibility hitting 90k before you even realize you're being hit.

And yes, I play Siege almost every week, and believe me when I tell you, ex-rangers will kill anything. If there's a cleric on both sides, the side with the ex-ranger will still win.

My sorcerer with maxed eva set, +30, all evasion jewels, gets hit by 12k from NS and 32k from Ex-rangers. Still a huge difference regardless of the gear you have.

Have been testing all characters intensively. Only magic-based character that wins a 1v1 is a Witch. A witch will beat everyone, including ex-rangers. ONLY if ex-rangers do not use invisibility. or if your decay lands before the debuff capsule is triggered, thus mitigating the debuff.

it seems like we aren't playing the same game xD

i know that the usa haven't that much players playing the meta, but i am seriously sad watching you saying "ex ranger" is good in sieges...

i played ns/witch/cleric/ex ranger/regular ranger/Templar/Archwizard this year.

I just had to laugh when I saw that video. Everyone in the US wants this to be a 1v1 game so bad. They want their titan to be able to 1v1 a rogue or a Rk 1v1 a witch and on and on. It's not and it should never be a 1v1 game. Thank you for reminding everyone of that!

I made a post here almost 3 years ago about giving the Nightshadows a dual class. It's even been suggested multiple times to give each class male/female options. How cool, as a woman myself, would it be to make my NS a female, straight up looking like Selene from Underworld?
